Dr. Shulman earned his Medical Degree from Emory University Medical School. He completed his residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and served as Chief Resident at Emory/Crawford W. Long Hospital.  Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, he has practiced medicine as a member of Atlanta's Laureate Medical Group since 1991.

Dr. Shulman has twice been named one of "Atlanta's Top Docs" by Atlanta magazine.  His interest in fitness and nutrition dates back to his freshman year as an undergraduate at Emory University. "The Thrive Beyond Fitness program offers all the components I am interested in, the things that are important in my life and the things I encourage for my patients."

Dr. Shulman firmly believes that the goal of internal medicine is to keep his patients healthy and leading a good lifestyle.

"The people who exercise regularly and enjoy balanced nutrition tend to be the happiest, most well-adjusted people in my population of patients. I believe that people will come away from the Thrive experience making better choices about their lives than when they began," he says.

Dr. Shulman stays in shape by practicing what he preaches, exercising religiously and enjoying a healthy diet. At home, you'll find Dr. Shulman in his workshop creating whimsical works of art from mixed media, or building enhancements for the Dunwoody home he shares with his wife and two sons. Utah is a favorite vacation destination, where the family enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing.
